34 1/2″ x 12″ x 35″ Finished in linseed oil, French Polish and wax. $15,000.
Designed as a statement piece in a main entry, this table draws reference from the Federal and Queen Anne styles. If the Federal period was about straight lines, inlay and tapered legs, and the Queen Anne period was about gently curved elements, then both styles are represented here. The bow and shafts of wheat are carved directly from the front apron. All the ebony inlay is let into the surfaces by hand. The finish starts with linseed oil, followed by a French polish, and sealed with carnauba and bees wax. This is one of the pieces in my portfolio which serves no other function than decorative. This is a work of art and a labor of love to be seen and appreciated for it’s own sake.
Built primarily from Honduran mahogany, I could make this in black walnut, sugar maple, sapele or any species you would prefer. Or, we could take these design elements and come up with something uniquely yours.
