48″ x 24″ x 36″ Finished in oil and wax. $15,000.
Designed as a moveable kitchen island, this cabinet draws reference from the Federal style. Built from solid black walnut and sugar maple as a secondary wood, the sides, front and back are veneered in book-matched black walnut burl veneer, and embellished with brass inlay. The back is made to match the front, with veneer, inlay and knobs. The turned feet are capped with solid brass casters. There are four wide, deep, hand dovetailed drawers supported on heavy duty, full extension under mount glides rated at 150lbs. a pair. So there’s plenty of room to store cookware and tableware.
This piece is best realized in veneer which is highly specific. I can build this in either walnut, maple or Honduran mahogany figured veneer, and I’ll show you samples of the actual veneer to choose from. The client sourced the marble for this piece to match the surrounding countertops. I’d be happy to work with you in selecting something that works in your space. Please know however, the top is a separate cost from the cabinet.
